Women 40% less on which to retire than their male counterparts, due to a lack of quality advice.
Sunday March 8 2015 is International Women’s day. What better time than this to remind women of all walks of life about the importance of superannuation and the amount of savings they will need in retirement.
But don’t wait! If you are a woman reading this I urge you to find a financial planner you can trust, one that understands your needs and aspirations. We must all work together to change these unacceptable statistics so that you can enjoy the lifestyle you would like in retirement.
The disparity in part is caused by women taking time out from work to raise children or to look after elderly parents. This is why the earlier you get help the better able you will be to make up for lost time.
The consequences of these statistics along with divorce and/or women outliving men, mean that many are not going to have enough money on which to retire without wise advice and careful planning by an adviser who will help them navigate the path to retirement.
